Bel'Veth details in League of Legends: Ability leaks, splash art, release date

October 2022 · 6 minute read

League of Legends is getting a new Void jungler in Season 12, joining the likes of Kha’Zix and Rek’Sai. Here’s everything we know about Champion 160 — Bel’Veth — including her lore, abilities, and release date.

Riot started off League of Legends Season 12 with a bang, revealing four different champions to kick off a mega 2022. With Zeri pushed live early on and Renata Glasc joining her not long after, that leaves two more, including a new Void jungler first teased in 2021.

Finally, we get to meet the dark, twisted creature known as Bel’Veth. Known as some in Runeterra as the God of Oblivion, she’s not just the heart of the Void, but the characterization of its harrowing transformation.

Here’s what we know about Bel’Veth — Champion 160 — including her lore, abilities, and when League’s next Void jungler will be hitting Summoner’s Rift.

Bel’Veth is League of Legends 160th champion.

Who is Bel’Veth?

Bel’Veth was first revealed in the September 2021 champion roadmap as “an overwhelming new jungler that should fill a Void in all your hearts.”

There’s been non-stop teasers since. Lead champion producer Ryan ‘Reav3’ Mireles was possessed by the Lavender Sea Bel’Veth is leading across Runeterra back in January, and soon after, so were some of League’s champions like Kai’Sa.

Her lore dives deeper into this story.

“Though Bel’Veth is new to Runeterra, her birth is untold millennia in the making—the end result of an allergic reaction between the Void and a nascent reality,” her bio reads.

“The once-pristine dimension of peaceful nothingness was irrevocably shattered when existence came into being, and forcefully individualized Void entities lashed out for eons in an attempt to defend themselves from the shock and pain.

“But the beings within were changed each time they touched the world, mutating from their once-perfect forms into hedonistic, violent animals. So too did the Void change with them.”

She’s described as an omnipotent threat to Runeterra, much more than the Shadow Isles: “A terrifying empress born from the combined memories, experiences, and emotions of an entire devoured port city and its outlying ocean—Bel’Veth’s mind contains millions of years of perfectly preserved knowledge, giving her near-omniscience as she prepares to destroy both Runeterra and the domain of her progenitors, the Watchers.”

To say the least, Bel’Veth is rather powerful, and her glorious Void form shows off as much.

Her official cinematic, titled “All That Will Ever Be”, shows off Kai’Sa’s first encounter with Bel’Veth.

Both of The Void Empress’ forms can be seen in the video, showing off her humanoid form and her terrifying void form, which is sure to take Summoner’s Rift by storm when she finally arrives.

Void jungler, Bel’Veth, abilities and release skin revealed

Bel’Veth’s abilities were leaked on May 11, two weeks ahead of her reveal. The leak, which has since been taken down on Reddit, revealed Bel’veth would be getting a stackable passive, a dash, and an ultimate that transformed her into her ‘true’ Void form.

A video by SkinSpotlights showed off the leaked gameplay footage, with seven clips of her in-game abilities.

And now, her abilities have been officially confirmed by Riot. She’ll be a hard-hitting, attack-speed heavy character with crowd control and dashes aplenty – here’s an official rundown of her kit.

Clips of all her abilities have been posted to Twitter, showcasing spooky purple visuals and a sinister manta-ray silhouette on her in-game model. The post also revealed that her first skin will be part of the Battle Boss line, where she’ll join iconic champions like Brand, Ziggs, and Veigar.
