A brand new patch has hit Escape from Tarkov, bringing a rework to Interchange, the new ‘overweight’ system, and much more.
It’s an exciting time for Tarkov players as a huge patch has hit live servers, bringing some of the biggest changes to the game yet.
Patch 0.12.4 is shaking up the game with a new overweight system which completely changes the ability to carry items. Meanwhile, Interchange has been reworked, other features have been added, and of course a ton of bug fixes.
Escape from Tarkov has stormed into mainstream gaming in the past few months.[ad name=”article1″]
The biggest change of the patch is no doubt the new weight system, which now means that players carrying too much will receive certain debuffs. Currently, if you are carrying too much weight you will be louder, slower, and use up stamina faster – heavily punishing anyone carrying way too much loot.
Additionally, stamina has been split into arms and legs, with arms losing stamina while aiming, throwing grenades and using melee weapons, while leg stamina being consumed by running and jumping.
But that’s not all when it comes to movement. A fatigue effect has been added as well, meaning that if a player is consistently keeping their stamina low then they will begin to use it up faster. All these changes mean that players will have to use their movement much more tactically.

While the bulk of the patch focuses on movement, there have been other key changes. Most notably, Interchange has received a rework, with the lighting being adjusted, new objects being added, and new exfil locations.
There are also two new grenades, many weapon mods, new armor, and a whole load of bug fixes to boot. You can check out the full notes below.
