As is to be expected, Team Rocket are up to their usual tricks in Pokemon Go yet again. This time, though, they’ve managed to capture the Legendary Fire/Flying-type, Ho-Oh, which debuted back in Gen II.

Ho-Oh is coming to Pokemon Go, but it looks a little bit different…A Seven Colored Shadow start date & time
As part of Niantic‘s events for June, we’ll see the release of the Shadow Ho-Oh Team Go Rocket Special Research on Thursday, June 17, at 12AM, and it will run until Wednesday, September 1, at 12AM.
Both of these dates and times are in every trainer’s local time zone, so no pesky conversions are required!
To get access to the A Seven Colored Shadow Special Research, you’ll first need to make sure you’ve completed any previous Team Go Rocket quests you have like The Higher They Fly and A Troubling Situation.
A Seven Colored Shadow tasks & rewards
There are a total of six steps in this Special Research, and each one has three individual tasks to complete.
Step 1 of 6
- Catch 10 Pokemon – Tediursa encounter
- Spin 3 PokeStops or Gyms – 1 Sun Stone
- Purify 1 Shadow Pokemon – 15 Poke Balls
Rewards: 1500 XP, 500 Stardust, Gloom encounter
Step 2 of 6
- Defeat 5 Team Go Rocket Grunts – 5 Hyper Potions
- Catch 5 Shadow Pokemon – 5 Revives
- Purify 3 Shadow Pokemon – 15 Great Balls
Rewards: 2000 XP, 500 Stardust, Xatu encounter
Step 3 of 6
- Use 3 super effective Charged Attacks in Gym Battles – 1 Fast TM
- Battle another trainer in the Great League – 1 Charged TM
- Purify 5 Shadow Pokemon – 15 Ultra Balls
