Apex Legends Season 13 character Newcastle has been officially revealed – here’s everything we know about the new Legend joining the games in ‘Saviors’ on May 10, including his abilities.

We now know that the leaks revealing unreleased Legends got at least one of them right, as Respawn Entertainment has confirmed Newcastle is next, arriving in Season 13.

It also turns out that he is Bangalore’s brother, real name Jackson Williams – who Bangalore thought had died. Her plans to leave the Apex Games have obviously been put on hold as a result.

Who is Newcastle in Apex Legends?

In terms of lore, we know that Newcastle is Bangalore’s (thought dead) brother. Since it’s Jackson, we already know a lot about his past thanks to the Gridiron Story from the Outlands that arrived in January.

Now we’ve received the Hero Story from the Outlands, we know Jackson has started a new life on a different planet and is now a father.

However, a group called the Forgotten Families is threatening to destroy his home unless a certain amount of money is paid. So, Jackson or Newcastle, is joining the Apex Games to pay them back and keep his home safe.

The other Williams family soldier will be voiced by FPS-veteran Gabe Kunda.

Best known as the voice of KAY/O, Valorant’s resident war machine, he has also provided voices to popular shows like My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan.

Newcastle abilities in Apex Legends

Respawn has finally unveiled all of Newcastle’s abilities in his official character trailer and it’s clear the mighty shield-bearer is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Outlands.

With a kit that’s centered around protecting allies from gunfire and dragging them out of danger, Newcastle is unlike any other Legend on the roster.

You can check out each of his abilities below:

• Passive: Retrieve The Wounded – Newcastle can use his knockdown shield to drag downed allies to safety.
• Tactical: Mobile Shield – Newcastle can throw a controllable drone shield that can be redirected once it’s deployed.
• Ultimate: Castle Wall – Leap and slam to a target ally or area and create a fortified stronghold that provides cover for allies.

We can see Jackson use all of these abilities in the trailer.
