Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the most recognizable anime of all time, and one fan of the show has shown their appreciation for Mai Valentine with an incredible cosplay that shows the character ready for action, complete with her powerful deck.
The popular anime and manga follow the story of Yugi Mutou, who one day solves the ancient Millennium Puzzle, causing the spirit of an unnamed Pharaoh to inhabit his body. While Yugi himself is timid and shy, the Pharoah is brash and brave, often challenging enemies or opponents to matches using the Duel Monsters game that has become synonymous with the show.
With Yugi and the Pharaoh travel around attempting to find a way to help the spirit regain his memories, the unlikely duo meet a ton of interesting characters along the way, and perhaps none are as intriguing as Mai Valentine, a self-absorbed duelist obsessed with prize money who finds meaning when she encounters Yugi, and joins him on his quest.

Valentine is a fearsome duelist, and with her story arc capturing the hearts of fans who enjoy the show, it’s no surprise that many Yu-Gi-Oh! fans decide to cosplay as the character, and Shayna Beining has become the latest to show off her take on the character, posting images of her perfect cosplay to the 2020 Anime Milwaukee convention.
While Mai wears a number of different outfits and costumes throughout the show, Shayna decided to replicate her look from the Battle City tournament, where she made it to the quarter-finals, wearing a purple skirt and leather jacket combo, along with a white top and purple thigh-high boots, something which Mai is rarely seen without in the show.
Of course, no Yu-Gi-Oh! cosplay is complete without a Dual Disk on their arm, and Shayna made sure to bring it along, even placing some cards on it as she seemingly prepares for battle against an opponent.
To add even more detail, the cards on her disk are from a Haripe deck, a nod to the character who uses this archetype in both the manga and anime.
